Burning So Brightly

Burning So Brightly

The impending day approaches, and sleep won’t come…

My brain burns brightly with the thoughts of you…

You are the spark of the universe that sets all things in motion…

Away from you, your presence is calling me back

And yet those sound like desperate words

How can I tell you that I carry you with me

Feeling of your warmth even now,

The majesty of your presence and form unfolding before me

The suppleness of your shoulders through the darkness of your hair

The gentle contour of your neck against my lips

Your scent pressed into me

And the taste of you on my lips

This longing to taste you again and always

Sensations of your glistening body melting into mine

Our bodies entangled as you lace your legs through mine

Your lulling whispers fill my ears

Speak those words to me softly again, “More kisses here”

I relax into the feeling with you

Surrendering, without the desire to discern where I begin, and you end

It is all taking root, and we are one

And it feels like coming home
